Day 1. Pulling up carpet.
Day 2. Pulling up tack strips. Concrete nails are aweful to pull out.
Day 3 finally starting install. Luxury vinyl plank is gorgeous and easy to install but occasionally a little stubborn to snap in when you’re tired.
I’m hoping to do a few boxes a day this week and be ready to do the kitchen next weekend. It’s a fun and rewarding experience for sure.

There’s a crazy amount of useful things epsom salt can do. Right now I have plantar fasciitis and it really hurts. Looks like it’s time for an epsom salt bath and It will help my stress as well. This is really cool information.
Soothe sprains and bruises: Add 2 cups of Epsom salt to a warm bath and soak to reduce the pain and swelling of sprains and bruises.
Exfoliate dead skin: In the shower or bath, mix a handful of Epsom salt with a tablespoon of bath or olive oil and rub all over your wet skin to exfoliate and soften. Rinse thoroughly.
Exfoliating face cleanser: To clean your face and exfoliate skin at the same time, mix a half-teaspoon of Epsom salt with your regular cleansing cream. Gently massage into skin and rinse with cold water.
Dislodge blackheads: Add a teaspoon of Epsom salt and 3 drops of iodine into a half cup of boiling water. Apply this mixture to the blackheads with a cotton ball.
Remove foot odor: Mix a half cup of Epsom salt in warm water and soak your feet for 10 minutes to remove bad odor, sooth achy feet, and soften rough skin.
Remove hairspray: Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup Epsom salt. Cover the mixture and let set for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture into your dry hair and leave on for 20 minutes before shampooing as normal.
Hair volumizer: Combine equal parts deep conditioner and Epsom salt and warm in a pan. Work the warm mixture through your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
My normal ULTA store got remodeled and it’s so much more open. They’re currently in the middle of the “21 Days of Beauty” sale. So many amazing deals on some top products. Saturday I bought some things I’ve heard amazing things about.
- Batiste dry shampoo- it lives up to they hype and at only $6 it’s a must-have. It also comes in several different scents depending on your personality. I chose Blush which is a soft floral.
- Tart shape tape concealer- it’s very thick and blends easily. It also has an amazing applicator.
- IT cosmetics foundation brush for ULTA- I got this 50% off and a good brush really does make a difference.
I recommend all three of these products. They’ll be a staple in my routine for sure. Dry shampoo on the weekends has made me so lazy. Haha
I also got my BOXYCHARM box in the mail. I wasn’t expecting it till midweek so it was a great surprise. It’ll be my next post. It gets better every month.
Another way I’m trying new products is by subscribing to beauty boxes like Boxycharm, Target beauty box, and soon I’ll get my first Sephora Play box.
From Boxycharm I got some fake eyelashes, new brushes, and an amazing eye shadow pallet by Tarte featuring some cool neutral colors.
From Colourpop I bought some incredibly affordable lippies. I was pretty much freaking out when I noticed they stayed on my lips for an entire 9.5 hour workday. They are amazing and they were only $6 each (sale was actually buy 2 get 1 free, SCORE!)
The loot with the Sephora bag was two perfumes I got with perfume certificates, Marc Jacobs mascara I exchanged my mascara certificate for, and my first BECCA purchase that began my BECCA addiction. I have always loved Flower Bomb perfume even before the song made it popular and I wanted another light clean scent and Gucci Bamboo was perfect. Marc Jacobs mascara was the only one that gave my lashes volume and length. Some of the other mascaras were great at lengthening and separating but they lacked giving extra volume. The BECCA blurring powder really is as good as everyone says it is. It has a bit of a shimmer to it that makes you glow without looking sparkly or shiny. I have a goal to make my skin look like a photo filtered image. Its a work in progress.

I’ve always been an Ulta girl but after joining Influenster, I was forced to investigate the competitor, Sephora. I have a new love. I’m in need of a new mascara and I’ve heard many of these mentioned on Influenster and now I get to try them for myself. For $28 I get all of these amazing samples AND I get a voucher for a full size mascara of my favorite one. I’m so excited! I’ll throw the other mascaras in my purse, car, and gym bag. win-win
This adventure all started when a friend innocently stated that he thought I was older than I am. He didn’t say it to be mean but said it as a matter of fact. I began to self reflect and evaluate why he thought that and I realized that I was wearing extremely unflattering and boring clothes and I was using the same makeup techniques as I was 10 years ago. And honestly, all my makeup and beauty products are probably expired. And so, my journey begins. I’m working on dressing more modern and up to date and I’m getting new makeup and learning new techniques. I’m 34 trying to look 28.
